A collection of older works I've made, some as school projects, some just for fun. They may contain somewhat unprofessional cinematography, less-than-ideal sound, and only fundamental editing. While the form of these films may not be anything to write home about, they should help to highlight my creative vision and how my craft has evolved. Please Enjoy.
Loneliness
Filmed in 2017 this is one of the oldest films of mine that I still have access to. About a man plagued with loneliness in a city filled with people, this film stands out in my memory and I continue to explore similar themes in some of my current work. Filmed with a Canon 6D and a Zoom H4N recorder.
The clear shift between the opening sequence and the rest of the film always interested me. The slow, uneventful pace of the protagonist's waking life sharply contrasts with his longing snapshot dreams. Despite being surrounded by people, he feels utterly alone. He faces no tangible barriers, yet he senses a profound freedom slipping away from him.
Umbrella Hat Commercial
A spoof commercial written and edited by me in 2018, filmed on iPhone, featuring me and a handful of friends. I asked my Economics professor if I could create a short instead of the final essay, she agreed and this is the final product.
While this production was miles away from being a professional set, I hope this spoof helps to highlight my natural creativity and talent for comedic timing.
